Four Wayland Baptist student-athletes have been named NAIA Scholar-Athletes in volleyball and women's cross country.
In cross country, junior Silvia Sosa was recognized, while in volleyball seniors Elisabeth Piroli, Lindsey Schwab and Megan Sharratt were honored.
In order to be nominated for NAIA Scholar-Athlete by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.Â
A total of 556 women's volleyball student-athletes and 351 women's cross country student-athletes were honored as NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
