At the NAIA Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Lawrence, Kan., Sarah ran the 5k-course in 18 minutes, 8.54 seconds. The freshman from Kapsabet, Kenya, placed sixth in the field of 319 runners. Jerotich's top-10 finish earned her NAIA All-American honors. Coach Brian Whitlock: "I'm really happy with the way Sarah ran. Today was the first time that she's ever really run in the cold. It was about 25 degrees and the wind chill was about 15 degrees, so it was very cold. For someone to run the way she did having never run in conditions like that, she handled the situation very well."
