In the first meet of Wayland's indoor track and field season, Selene qualified for NAIA nationals in both the mile and 5,000 meters at the Texas Tech Indoor Open. In a field of 18 runners, she won the 5,000 on Friday in 17 minutes, 47.83 seconds, the fastest time in the NAIA this season. On Saturday, she finished fourth in a field of 30 in 5:11.64, the NAIA's sixth-fastest time of the season. Coach Rohan Thompson: "I thought Selene in the 5K was pretty outstanding."
