After helping the Pioneers to the NAIA National Championships for the first time in six years, Markus scored a team-high 26 points plus had seven rebounds and seven assists in No. 20 Wayland's 97-90 first-round loss to No. 16 Georgetown, Ky., the defending national champion. Markus also competed in the inaugural NABC-NAIA Men's Basketball All-Star Game on Saturday in Kansas City, scoring nine points as he helped the NAIA Division I all-stars to a 120-107 win over the NAIA Division II all-stars. Markus also had four assists, two rebounds and a block.
