Johnathon, last year's Sooner Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year after finishing second at 125 pounds, won all four of his matches, two by decision (7-1 and 9-5), one by major decision (12-4) and in the final over Jeremy McPherson of TXWES by fall to capture first place honors. 
Johnathon, who is ranked ninth in the NAIA, next competes at NAIA Nationals on March 4 back on the TXWES campus in Fort Worth. He went 2-2 at nationals in 2021.
