Due to various injuries, the Wayland Baptist wrestling team didn't experience as much success as it did during the 2012-13 year, but did manage to put together a competitive season, advancing to the NAIA National Championship Tournament for the third straight year.

Markese Christian, Andrew Porras, Victor Thomas, and Chris Hart represented WBU at the national tournament in Kansas after qualifying at the NAIA Central Regional Tournament.

The Pioneers ended the season ranked the equivalent of 30th in the coaches poll.
