The men's golf team had one of their most successful seasons in the program's 12-year history. The Pioneers won the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship for the first time, knocking off the second-ranked Oklahoma City Stars by an amazing 13 strokes.
Wayland was ranked first in the preseason poll, and held on to that honor throughout the remainder of the season until after the NAIA Championship was played. The Pioneers finished 14th at a weather-shortened tournement, but still remained in the top-10 in the rankings, landing sixth in the final poll.
Ian Ansett, Ryan Connolly and Anders Ellingsburg were all named NAIA 1st Team All-Americans, while Ansett and Connolly were named to the PING All-American 1st Team. Steven Diack was named SAC Freshman of the Year and coach Tom Harp was named SAC Coach of the Year. Ellingsburg was named 2nd Team PING All-American in addition to receiving NAIA Scholar Athlete for the third consecutive year.
Additionally, the men's golf team was one of six teams at Wayland to be named an NAIA Scholar Team.
