Last week Shahala was named Sooner Athletic Conference Player and Hitter of the Year after leading the conference in kills (630), kills per set (5.5), hitting percentage (.354), and blocks per set (1.3). Hawkins was also named SAC Tournament MVP after leading the Pioneers to the conference tournament championship. In the tournament, Hawkins averaged over 23 kills per match with a .391 hitting percentage.
