At the NAIA Central Regional Qualifier in Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday, Chris finished third – the best finish for Wayland – in the 141-pound class to qualify for the NAIA Wrestling National Tournament for the fourth time. The senior defeated Parker Bohannan of Oklahoma City University by 8-3 decision to earn third. Coach Aaron Meister: "We feel like Chris put together his best performance of the year here. Now we hope he will take that into the national tournament for his final tournament as a Pioneer.” The national tourney is set for March 6 and 7 in Topeka, Kan., where Chris will be looking to add to the all-American honor he earned two years ago when he finished seventh in the nation.
