In the series-opener against Central Christian (Kan.), Tanner struck out a career-high 14 batters while walking only one and scattering seven hits in a seven-inning, complete-game, 10-2 victory. The 14 Ks doubled his previous season-high and marked the seventh time in Tanner's career to log double-digit strikeouts. The fifth-year right-hander from Phoenix, now 3-3 on the season, has 49 strikeouts on the season (13th in the NAIA) and 291 career strikeouts.
