For the first time in a decade, the Flying Queens qualified for the NAIA National Championships in back-to-back seasons. Coach Alesha Robertson-Ellis’ team finished third in the Sooner Athletic Conference before being eliminated in the first round at nationals by No. 13 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.), 72-69. They wound up with a No. 22 ranking and a 19-12 record, one victory shy of last season’s 20-win total, which would have given the program consecutive 20-win campaigns for the first time this century. Juniors Laura Castillo and Stephanie Afunugo were named NAIA Third-Team and Honorable Mention All-Americans, respectively. Iesha Greer, one of two seniors on the squad along with LaTericka Anderson, repeated on the All-SAC Third Team.
