Benard finished second at the NAIA at the 60th annual NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships in Charlotte, N.C. The junior from Kenya, after finishing first last season, ran a time of 24 minutes, 14 seconds over the 8-kilometer course at McAlpine Creek Park. Coach Brian Whitlock: "Benard ran really well, just not well enough today to win. Benard did his best."
