Tamyra Mensah moved one step closer to qualifying for the 2016 Olympics by winning the 69-kilogram class at the U.S. Senior Nationals in Las Vegas. She won her first three matches by technical fall then in the finals defeated Olympic bronze medalist Randi Miller by a 5-2 decision. The win earned Mensah the No. 1 seed for the U.S. Olympic Trials to be held April 8-10 in Iowa City, Iowa. Mensah, was named outstanding wrestler of the entire tournament. Mensah is redshirting at Wayland this academic year while training at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
