Sophomore from Dallas, Owens turned in the NAIA's second-best triple jump of the season (11.77 meters; 38 feet, 7½ inches) at the University of New Mexico Collegiate Classic. She also qualified for nationals in the long jump with a mark of 5.45 meters (17-10¾).
