Genesis Veliz became the first NAIA national champion for Wayland Baptist’s swimming & diving program last weekend in Columbus, Ga. A sophomore from Venezuela, Veliz finished first in both 1-meter and 3-meter diving. She finished with a score of 206.80 in the 1-meter event and 289.50 in 3-meter. Coach Alyson Hannan: “It’s awesome. We're really pumped. She looked good and did a really good job.”
