In the Pioneers’ second of six games at the Tucson Invitational, Jordie pitched a one-hitter while striking out nine and walking just one as Wayland shut out Dickinson State, N.D., 3-0. The Blue Hawks' lone hit was a one-out single in the top of the fourth inning. On the next batter, the Pioneers turned a 4-6-3 double-play to end the inning. The hit prevented Henry, who delivered 59 strikes among his 88 pitches, from throwing the seventh no-hitter in program history, and the second this month after Jonathan Frost’s March 5. Henry, who matched a team season-high with his 9 Ks, improved to 5-1. Ranked the equivalent of 36th in the NAIA, the Pioneers (26-8) host Lubbock Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday before entertaining No. 24 USAO in a three-game weekend series, playing a doubleheader at 3 p.m. Friday followed by a single game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
