Maria, a sophomore from Bogota, Colombia, broke the school record in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 1 minute, 59.50 seconds at a tri-meet between Texas-Permian Basin and McMurry. The old record was 2:00.48. Next for Barrera and the sixth-ranked Pioneer women's swimming and diving team will be the Trinity Shootout in San Antonio on Nov. 18-20.
