Shayla scored a career-high 25 points and tied a school-record with seven 3-pointers in a 70-65 win over Texas Wesleyan, one of three wins last week for the No. 19 Flying Queens. The fifth-year senior guard from Canyon poured in 13 points in the fourth quarter against Wesleyan, including three straight 3-pointers to open the period, and was 4-of-4 at the free-throw line in the final 20 seconds to preserve the win. Over the three games (WBU also defeated No. 8 OCU 78-72 and SAGU 68-38) Shayla averaged 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.0 steals and was 13-of-14 (93 percent) from the free-throw line and 10-of-24 (42 percent) from the 3-point line. The Flying Queens (16-2, 7-1 SAC) have won 11 straight games and 20 in a row at home.
