Tre Hinds, a sophomore middle-distance runner from Ashton Hall, Barbados, bettered his own school record in the 600 meters at the indoor season-opening Cherry & Silver Invitational in Albuquerque. His time of 1 minute, 17.29 seconds represents the NAIA’s fastest time of the season by almost two seconds. He finished third in the race behind two UTEP runners, including one, Emmanuel Korir of Kenya, who set the world record in 1:14.97. Tre also helped the mile relay team qualify for nationals with a time of 3:16.02. Coach Brian Whitlock on Hinds' 600: “That's pretty fast. We're expecting him to have a good season.”
