At the Ross Black Open hosted by New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, Tre went above and beyond in an effort to boost the team’s chances of winning a national title by entering an event in which he hadn’t competed since high school, the 400 hurdles. The sophomore from Ashton Hall, Barbados, proceeded to run the NAIA’s fastest time of the season in the event, 52.22 seconds, to qualify for nationals. He was named Sooner Athletic Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week. Tre already has the NAIA’s eighth-fastest time of the season in the 400 and the sixth-fastest time in the 800. Said coach Brian Whitlock, "Tre is a pretty versatile kid. Not very many guys can do that.”
