A senior who's experienced more downs than ups at national championships during her extended collegiate career, Selene came up big in her final collegiate competition to help the WBU women to the NAIA outdoor track & field national championship. After finishing fourth in the 10,000 meters on a Thursday with a time of 36 minutes, 45.03 seconds, Selene came back Saturday morning and finished second in the marathon with a school-record time of 3 hours, 8 minutes, 8½ seconds. She ran 32.4 miles in less than 36 hours, and she finished ahead of 12 men in a marathon which 34 men did not complete. "That's a grueling double, and Selene did an amazing job. She was spectacular," Coach Brian Whitlock said.
