Demetrius, a sophomore from Killeen, ran the NAIA’s third-best 400 of the season, 47.49 seconds, at the Ross Black Invitational hosted by New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs. He also helped the Pioneers’ 4x400 relay team to a meet record time of 3:14.01, which met an “A” national-qualifying standard.
