Jennette, a junior transfer from Mesquite by way of Hill College, recorded eight saves in helping the soccer team record a 1-0 victory over the University of Texas of the Permian Basin on Saturday afternoon at Hilliard Field. Coach Shiloh Posey: “I felt Jennette did a good job of positioning in the goal. Her distribution was good knowing when and where to play the ball. Her decisions regarding game management were solid and she showed a willingness to get in the mix in front of the goal to help interrupt and deflect potential goal-scoring chances.”

The Pioneers improved to 4-2-1 win the win in their final match before the start of Sooner Athletic Conference play. Posey’s club was to host Bacone in its SAC debut Saturday but that match was forfeited by the Warriors who are not fielding a women’s team this season. Instead, the Pioneers next host Texas Wesleyan on Sept. 25.
