A junior from Manchester, Jamaica, and a transfer from New Mexico Junior College, Teresha led the top-ranked women’s cross country team to a first-place team finish at the South Plains College Open. In the 5k race at Brashear Lake in Levelland, she finished with a time of 19 minutes, 14 seconds to place fourth in the field of 78 runners. Teresha was followed immediately by teammates Jackline Jemeli in fifth place and Jackline Cherono in sixth as Wayland easily won the 10-school team competition with 17 points.
"My top three girls ran together the whole way before Teresha broke free the last 800. It was a very good run by all three of them," coach Brian Whitlock said.
