Nick, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound sophomore quarterback from San Antonio, accounted for 413 total yards and three touchdowns in Wayland’s 41-30 home win over Texas Wesleyan.
Nick completed 31-of-54 passes for 321 yards and touchdowns from 30, 30 and 37 yards. He also carried eight times for 92 yards for an average of 11½ yards a carry.
The Pioneers (4-3, 3-3 SAC) play their final road game Saturday in Surprise, Ariz., against first-year Ottawa-Arizona (also 4-3, 3-3). The teams are tied for fourth place in the SAC standings with Arizona Christian, the team Wayland hosts in its regular-season finale Nov. 10.
