Jathiya placed second when top-ranked Wayland competed at the Missouri Valley Open on Nov. 18 in Marshall, Mo. Competing in the 123-pound division, the junior from Houston posted three shutout tech fall victories prior to falling to Cheyenne Sisenstein of King University (Tenn.) in the championship match.

Jathiya is ranked third in the NAIA in her weight class.

The Pioneers are next in action along with the WBU men in hosting the Wayland Invitational on Saturday.
