Lathaniel competed at the West Texas A&M Last Chance Meet, helping the men’s 4x100 meter relay team to its fastest time of the season, 40.51 seconds. The Pioneers will have the third-best time in the NAIA at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships May 23-25 in Gulf Shores, Ala.

"That's a good time with a group of 400 (meter) guys, mainly," coach Brian Whitlock said. "We had pretty good handoffs most of the way. That gives us some confidence going to nationals. We'll have a good chance of doing well."

A senior from New Liberia, La., Lathaniel is a transfer from Hastings College (Neb.).
