As the Pioneers swept NCAA Division II Adams St., Colo., Brendon had a monster series with four homers, including a three-run, two-run shot in the bottom of the eighth of the finale that completed Wayland’s comeback from a six-run deficit for an 11-9 victory. Brendon also had a solo homer earlier in the game after also homering in Saturday’s first game as well as Friday’s series opener. For the weekend he wound up going 5-for-13 (.385) with the four homers, a triple, eight RBIs, and six runs. He posted a 1.462 slugging percentage.
A 5-foot-11 senior designated hitter from Amarillo, Foust has five homers on the season to share the NAIA lead. Additionally, he ranks ninth in the NAIA with 12 RBI and 10th in runs scored with 11. His efforts have helped the 8-0 Pioneers to their best start since 2004.
