A 6-foot-6, 235-pound right-handed pitcher from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, L.J. was the game 1 starter as Wayland swept NCAA Division II Adams St., Colo. In five scoreless innings, L.J. allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out eight. He earned his first victory as a Pioneer as Wayland wound up with an 8-1 victory over the Grizzlies.

Diaz, who transferred to Wayland from Tusculum University, Tenn., has helped the Pioneers to an 8-0 start, their best in 16 years!
