At Saturday's Texas Tech Open, Ferguson ran the third-fastest times of the season in the NAIA in both the 100 (11.79 seconds) and 200 meters (24.09), with a PR in the 200. She won the 200 and placed second in the 100. "Gortia has come really into her own," Coach Rohan Thompson said. "She has figured out how to be a successful college athlete, mainly through her training and working hard every time she gets on the track. She's giving 100 percent every time she's out there."
