Tanner helped the Pioneers bounce back from their first loss of the season after eight wins, the team’s best start to a season in 16 years. In the second game of a four-game set against MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.), Tanner allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out a career-tying best 10 with only two walks in five innings. The Pioneers went on to an 11-5 win.

A 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-hander from Phoenix, Tanner improved to 3-0 on the season to rank third in the NAIA. He’s also third with 24 strikeouts in 15 innings.
