Cesar turned in special performances during the 5th Annual Gorilla Indoor Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan.
Highlighting his weekend was helping the 4x800-meter relay team to a winning time of 7 minutes, 42 seconds, which ranks third in the NAIA this season. Amador ran the lead leg while also competing individually in the 600 yards (1:14.20) and the 800 (1:56.33).
Coach Brian Whitlock said Amador, a sophomore from Springlake, "really stepped up for us and ran his fastest time by two or three seconds. I'm really proud of Cesar. He's come a long way. He really improved in cross country and that's paying off. He's a hard worker and has heart. He really cares."
