Alex and the Pioneer soccer team secured a 4-2 win over Texas Wesleyan in what was the team’s first road match of the season.

“Alex made some important interceptions and tackles that could easily have led to goals,” soccer coach Robert Ssejjemba said.

Alex, a first-year transfer from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, is a 6-foot junior center-back from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.

The Pioneers (4-1) host Central Christian, Kan., at 4 p.m. Friday.
