At UWW Junior and U23 Nationals in Omaha, Neb., Desiree took first place in dominant fashion in the U23 59-kilo weight division, winning her three matches by a combined 31-0. The senior from Grandview, Wash., was second in the balloting for most outstanding female freestyle wrestler at the three-day event that featured the top college-age wrestlers in the nation. The win secured a bid to the 2021 Senior World Team Trials for Desiree.

Coach Glenn Gray said Desiree was rewarded for "staying focused and for the hard work she puts in on a day-to-day basis. She also does a great job rallying the rest of the team."
