Weldon rejoined the Pioneer family after playing in the New York Mets organization and independent ball for three years.  Todd originally came to Wayland in 2009 where he proved to be a valuable member of the Pioneer baseball team’s most successful season when he led the team in wins with 11, strikeouts (120), and innings pitched (65.1).  Weldon’s success continued in 2010 when he was drafted in the 27th round by the Mets.  Weldon had the privilege of playing under pitching coach Frank Viola, a World Series MVP in 1987 and Cy Young Award winner in 1988, while playing for the Brooklyn Cyclones in 2010 and 2011.  In 2011 Weldon was named to the New York-Penn League All-Star Game where he recorded a save by striking out the final two batters of the game.  Todd, who received his master's degree from Wayland in 2015, is married to the former Devon Allen. They have a son.
