Pioneer Women Edged Out Again

CHICKASHA, Okla. --- The Wayland Baptist women suffered their fourth 1-0 loss of the season on Thursday afternoon.  The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma scored in the 75th minute of the game against the Pioneers to pick up the win, its tenth of the season.

The Drover women had nine shots on goal in the first period alone, but could not get one past WBU junior goalkeeper Courtney Chambers.

The lone goal came off a corner kick by Taylor Fain to Leslie Bross with 14:40 left in the game.  USAO, which ended up with a total of 22 shots, had just one other shot on goal in the second half.

The Pioneers forced saves on six of their eight shots.   Freshman Jordan James put both of her shot attempts on goal.

The loss evens the WBU women's season record up at 6-6.  They are 1-5 in conference play.  USAO improves to 10-2 on the year, and 5-1 in SAC action.
