Box Score Southern Nazarene's Horace McGloster scored all of his team-high 14 points in the second half to lead the #14 Crimson Storm to a 75-62 win over Wayland Baptist on Thursday evening at Hutcherson Center.
Eleven of McGloster's points came on four straight SNU possessions midway through the second half. After George Williams hit a three-pointer to put the Pioneers back to within five, 42-37, McGloster hit three straight treys and then finished with a long two-pointer to give his team an 11-point cushion.
In the first period, the Storm did most of their damage inside, outscoring the Pioneers 26-8 in the paint, including three monster dunks, to take a 34-27 lead into the half.
The WBU men shot 43 percent from the field in the game, largely due to their struggles from beyond the arch where they hit just 3-of-12. On the other end of the court, SNU hit 52 percent of its shots.
Four Pioneers hit the double figure mark in scoring, led by 6'10 junior center Robert Curtis with 16. Williams, Isaiah Jackson and Bobby Watkins each added 10 points for Wayland, which fell to 8-12 overall and 2-10 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
The WBU men have one more shot at home before returning to the road next week. They take on Science & Arts of Oklahoma, which dropped a 65-61 decision on Thursday to Lubbock Christian, at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Drovers are 12-7 and 8-5.
