Box Score BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Despite a valiant effort, the Wayland Baptist women's volleyball team dropped its fourth straight match here Friday afternoon, falling to Baker University, 1-0.
The teams battled to a scoreless tie through the first 77-plus minutes until Shelby Schiraldi scored her first goal of the season. It proved to be the only goal of the match.
Wayland (0-4-1) took 11 shots – 10 of which came in the first half. Six were on goal to equal the number of Baker (4-2-0), which got off 13 shots total.

Jodian Morris and
Jessica Bell managed three shots apiece, with Abbott and Bell getting two on goal. Morris and
Kendall Fraley had the Pioneers' other on-target shots.
Wayland stays in Kansas for its next match in Atchison against unbeaten, 24
th-ranked Benedictine College (4-0) at 3 p.m. Sunday. Going into a match Saturday against Missouri Baptist, the Ravens have outscored opponents this season, 24-3.
Wayland's next home match is against West Texas A&M at 7 p.m. Sept. 18.
