Wayland Baptist's women's soccer team closed its fourth Sooner Athletic Conference match of the season Saturday afternoon at Hilliard Field, falling to defending conference champion University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, 3-0.

WBU (3-6-2, 2-2-0) went into the match riding high, having won three of its last four outings. But the Pioneers found themselves behind early, 2-0.

Just 10 minutes into the match, Jordan Cleveland scored the first goal for USAO (7-5-0, 3-1-0). Just short of three minutes after that, Kylie Pyle, assisted by Kassi Hameg, scored another shot to increase the Drovers' lead.

Pyle scored USAO's last goal as well, late in the second half.

WBU was outshot by the Drovers by a 16-5 margin. Three of Wayland's shots were on goal, by
Chelsea Beaubouef,
Gabrielle Munoz and Guadalupe Leyva, but USAO's goalkeeper saved all three.

Wayland's next match will be in Oklahoma City on Friday against Mid-America Christian (4-5-1, 1-2-0). The Evangels lost their most recent match at Texas Wesleyan, 1-0. MACU plays at Bacone on Tuesday.
