Box Score SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Coming off its first earned on-field win of the season, the Wayland Baptist women's soccer team took it on the chin here Thursday night, falling in Sooner Athletic Conference play to 23
rd-ranked John Brown University, 8-0.
Riding the momentum of Saturday's 3-0 win over Central Christian (Kan.), Wayland (2-7, 1-2 SAC) was hoping to pull off the unlikely road upset of league-leading JBU, but the Golden Eagles (9-2, 3-0) had none of it.
JBU notched its fourth-straight win, having outscored Texas A&M-Texarkana, Southwestern Assemblies of God, Texas Wesleyan and Wayland by a combined score of 24-2.
Wayland will go from playing the first-place team in the SAC to the last-place team when the Pioneers travel to Muskogee, Okla., to take on Bacone (2-8, 0-2) at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Warriors have dropped SAC matches to Texas Wesleyan (2-0) and SAGU (5-0).
