Jeffery Lucido, a kicker for the Wayland Baptist football team, was named Sooner Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
A 5-foot-6, 150-pound redshirt freshman from Childress, Lucido was honored after booting two field goals and three PATs in the Pioneers' 29-24 home-opening win over Oklahoma-Panhandle State.
In his second game as a Pioneer, Lucido booted a 25-yard field goal in the second quarter and a 34-yarder in the third period. On a windy afternoon at Greg Sherwood Memorial Bulldog Stadium, he also was perfect on his three PATs.
Lucido now is eligible for NAIA Special Teams Player of the Week.
The Pioneers play their final game of the fall on Nov. 14 in Fort Worth against Texas Wesleyan.
