SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – After a tie and a loss in the first week of Sooner Athletic Conference play, the Wayland Baptist women's soccer team will be searching for its first league victory when the Pioneers host Central Christian on Wednesday.
After a 2-2, double-overtime tie with Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth on Tuesday, the Pioneers suffered a 5-0 loss to ninth-ranked John Brown University here Saturday afternoon.
The loss moved Wayland's overall record to 4-3-1 and its SAC mark to 0-1-1. JBU improved to 7-1 and 2-0.
Next up for the Pioneers is Central Christian (7-2-1, 0-2-0), which after not experiencing a setback in its first nine outings lost to John Brown on the road Tuesday, 5-0, and to Mid-America Christian at home on Saturday, 3-2. Wayland hosts Central Christian at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
