Bianca Roman have been named Wayland Baptist University Student-Athletes of the Week.

Green, a 5-foot-11 sophomore catcher from Sachse, Texas, had an impressive week at the plate as he posted a .714 batting average, going 5-for-7 with three walks and a hit-by-pitch in games against University of the Southwest (N.M.) and Central Christian (Kan.). Green's best game was a 4-for-5 performance that included a double in an 18-8 win over Central Christian in Kansas.

Green is batting .386 on the season with a team-leading nine doubles.

The Pioneer baseball team is scheduled to play Southwest in a single game at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilder Field.

Roman led the way as the WBU women's soccer team took on Texas Wesleyan and Southwestern Assemblies of God University, totaling three goals and an assist for a seven-point week.

A 5-foot senior from Fort Worth, Roman scored both of Wayland's goals in a 5-2 loss against TXWES. It was her third two-goal match of the season, the first two coming in Wayland's first two matches of the season in October.

Roman then scored one more goal and had an assist in a 3-0 victory over SAGU that snapped a five-match skid for the Pioneers.

Roman has seven goals, half of her team's season total, along with two assists for 16 total points. She has attempted 32 shots, 16 on-goal.

Roman and the Pioneers (4-5, 2-5 SAC) play their final home match of the season at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Berl Huffman Soccer Complex in Lubbock against Science and Arts of Oklahoma (9-4, 4-3). No spectators will be allowed.
