ROUND ROCK – The Wayland Baptist men's soccer team suffered its second one-goal loss in less than 48 hours, falling Monday afternoon to Huston-Tillotson, 1-0.
The loss came on the heels of Saturday's 3-2 double-overtime loss to Houston-Victoria.
Against the Rams (2-1), Wayland (2-3) got off twice as many shots as the home team, 14-7, with Luis Fernandez and
Samba Gnokane getting three each for the Pioneers. Seven of Wayland's shots were on-target, two each by Gnokane and
Leonardo Amaral. All but one of the Rams' shots were on-goal.
The match's lone goal was courtesy of HTU's Juan Belman in the 26
th minute.
Wayland wraps up a three-match road swing on Saturday in Brownwood against Howard Payne. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. The Hawks open their season the day before at home against the University of Dallas.
