Bethany, OK – The women's soccer team had a wild game against Southwestern Christian University Wednesday afternoon. The Pioneers scored the first two goals of the game to take an early lead.
Gabriella Chapa scored the first goal in the 21
st minute and just two minutes later
Maria Hernandez scored to give WBU a two-goal lead.
Southwestern Christian scored four consecutive goals, the last being in the 56
th minute, to give the Eagles a 4-2 lead.
The Pioneers refused to quit and Camila Zavalla scored a goal in the 82
nd minute to make the score 4-3. Zavalla's goal was assisted by
Ashley Perez.
Ashley Perez scored a goal in the 87
th minute to tie the game at 4 and neither team was able to score in the final three minutes.
This game marked the end of the season for the Pioneers as they fell just short of landing a spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament.
