Pioneers Continue Perfect Start to Season with Overwhelming 117-46 Victory at OPSU

GOODWELL, Okla. --- RV Wayland Baptist men's basketball put together its most overwhelming performance of the season Tuesday night, overpowering Oklahoma Panhandle State from start to finish in a 117–46 road victory at Anchor D Arena. With the win, the Pioneers move to 8–0 overall and 3–0 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

Wayland wasted no time seizing control, erupting for 62 first-half points while shooting over 52 percent from the floor and knocking down 10 threes before the break. By halftime, the Pioneers led 62–26 and never looked back, finishing the night with a season-high 21 made three-pointers and 54.8 percent overall shooting.

The Pioneers' depth was on full display as 12 different players scored, including 60 points off the bench, and every rotation piece contributed on the defensive end. Wayland forced 21 turnovers, translating them into 30 points, while holding the Aggies to just 24 percent shooting and only six made threes on 34 attempts.

Leading the charge was Chuks Ejiofor, who delivered a massive performance off the bench with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals, shooting 6-of-10 from the floor and 4-of-6 from deep. The junior forward sparked several scoring runs, including a pair of momentum-building dunks that broke the game open.

Junior forward Rico Yarbrough made his presence felt inside, posting 16 points, 13 rebounds, five steals, and two assists—a dominant double-double that set the tone physically on both ends.

Sharpshooting guards Marcus Green and Colton Spencer combined for 29 points, knocking down 7-of-15 from beyond the arc, while Dylan McDougal added 12 points on four threes. Brett Leach chipped in 11 points, going a perfect 3-for-3 from long range.

Wayland out-rebounded OPSU 48–28, committed just eight turnovers, and logged 27 assists as a team—one of their most balanced statistical outings of the year. The Pioneers' largest lead reached 71 points in the final minute, capping a statement performance in conference play.

The Pioneers return to action after the Thanksgiving break, looking to extend their undefeated start to the season against their toughest opponent to date when they host #20 Nelson on Thursday, December 4th, at 8:00 PM in the Hutcherson Center.
