Athletic Student Advisory Council Participates in Clothing Drive

PLAINVIEW --- The Athletic Student Advisory Council of Wayland Baptist University completed a Fall Clothing drive during October and November 2025. More than 30 boxes of clothing were donated, including shirts, pants, hats, coats, and gloves for all age ranges, from infants to adults.
 
The photos include a portion of the teams that were able to collect donations. Although not everyone was able to be present, we are grateful to each athletic team across the WBU campus for their efforts!

The ASA group chose to donate to two of our local donation stores—Compassionate Care Pregnancy Center, and Broadway Treasures—specifically, because the items that are donated are free of charge to the people that are served by these two fine organizations.
 
Compassionate Care is a crisis pregnancy center that serves women and children with anything from diapers and formula to onesies, and the occasional car-seat, to clothing for the mothers.
This operation is directed by Mrs. Sunell Pyeatt who has been the Executive Director since 2006, and whose husband is a Wayland faculty member.
 
Broadway Treasures is a local donation organization that participates with Crisis Center of the Plains to assist local victims of domestic violence.
This is accomplished by helping to provide funding through the selling of clothing and other products, including children's toys, and similar items, while the proceeds are used to purchase needed supplies and services that the organization uses to maintain operations.
 
If you ever have a desire to serve the local Plainview community, these organizations always have things that need to be done and welcome any assistance that is provided!
