Plainview, TX – The Pioneer offense started off slowly Saturday against Oklahoma City University, as the visitors led by seven points, 8-1, with 15:50 left to play in the first half. However, WBU went on a 33-20 run for the remainder of the half and took a 34-28 lead into halftime.
The Pioneers controlled the second half and led by as many as 21 points with 3:02 left in the game.
For the second straight game,
Brett Leach led the Pioneers in scoring as he poured in 22 points, making 9 of 15 field goal attempts. Leach also grabbed 3 rebounds and added an assist.
Quenton Coleman had 17 points, along with 3 steals, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a blocked shot.
Alex Rojas was the other Pioneer in double figures with 13 points, including 3 for 5 from behind the three-point line.
Niko Noumeros scored 7 points and had a team high 8 rebounds and 3 assists.
James Lee also contributed 7 points along with 2 assists, a rebound, a steal and a block.
Adeola Seun added 4 points, going 4 for 4 from the free throw line while also grabbing 4 offensive rebounds.
Dylan McDougal played tremendous defense while also scoring 4 points, having 4 steals, 3 assists and 2 rebounds.
Kabine Kaba scored 2 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and had an assist.
Jaxon Recer had 6 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal while
Joshua Tucker had 3 rebounds and an assist while playing harassing defense.
The Pioneers hit the road next week as they face the College of the Ozarks on Thursday and John Brown University on Saturday.
