Bethany, Okla. --- The Pioneers use 39 runs to dominate Southwestern Christian and complete the three-game sweep to move to 8-4 in Sooner Athletic Conference play through three series. The Pioneers won 24-13 in game one and followed that with a 15-5 win in game two.

GAME ONE
Â
Game one between the Pioneers and Eagles was an absolute rollercoaster that featured about all you can imagine in a baseball game. It started with Southwestern Christian jumping out to a commanding 8-0 lead after the bottom of the 1
st inning.

The Pioneers answered back in the top of the 2
nd with a big offensive inning that started with
Brayden Peyton making it 8-1 after driving an RBI single to center.
Christian Toledo followed two batters later with a bases-loaded walk that made it 8-2.
Sinclair Pimentel then made it 8-3 after scampering home on a passed ball.
Felix Polanco capped off the five-run inning for the Pioneers with a two-run double that made it 8-5, Eagles.

Riley Watson trimmed the Pioneers deficit to just one run in the top of the 3
rd after smashing a two-run single to make it 8-7, SCU. Toledo then evened the score up at 8-8 after scoring Watson with an RBI triple.
Cooper Jauz continued the Pioneer 3
rd inning hit parade by smoking an RBI single to push them ahead, 9-8. The final blow of the inning came off the bat of
Samuel Fabian as he crushed a three-run bomb to center – his 11
th home run of the season – to give the Pioneers a 12-8 lead.

Southwestern Christian battled back in the bottom of the 4
th inning with four runs to even the score up at 12-12. The tie didn't last long as the Pioneer offense erupted again in the top of the 5
th four more runs.

Cooper Jauz made it 13-12 after driving another RBI single. Fabian followed three batters later with another RBI single to make it 14-12. Pimentel then drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 15-12. Peyton capped off the four-run inning with a sacrifice fly to make it 16-12, Pioneers.

The Eagles continued to keep pace with the Pioneers as they scored another run in their half of the 5
th to make it 16-13.

In the top of the 6
th, the Pioneers matched the Eagles first-inning run total (8) by scoring eight runs of their own to deliver the dagger to the SCU. The huge inning started with
Delvis Claudio smashing a two-run blast to left – his 12
th home run of the season – to push the Pioneers ahead, 18-13. Two batters later, Polanco drove an RBI triple to right and would later score on a wild pitch to give the Pioneers a 20-13 lead. Pimentel kept the hits coming as he smacked an RBI single to right to make it 21-13. The massive 6
th inning would finally end after Claudio knocked in another run followed by a two-run single from Jauz to make it 24-13.
Justin Smith slammed the door on the Eagles and secured the wild 24-13 win in game one for the Pioneers.

Fabian finished 2 for 4 with a home run, four RBIs, four runs scored, a walk, and a hit by pitch. Jauz went 3 for 5 with four RBIs, two runs scored, and a hit by pitch. Claudio finished 2 for 5 with a home run, two RBIs, two runs scored, and a hit by pitch. Polanco went 3 for 6 with a triple, a double, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Toledo went 2 for 3 with a triple, two RBIs, two walks, four runs scored, and a stolen base.

GAME TWO
Â
Game two was the opposite of a rollercoaster – the Pioneers dominated from start to finish. Wayland Baptist opened the scoring in the top of the 2
nd, and they opened the scoring in a big way.

Riley Watson drove in the first run of the game with an RBI single to give the Pioneers an early 1-0 lead. Toledo followed up with an RBI double to score Watson and make it 2-0, Pioneers. Claudio then extended the Pioneer lead to 3-0 after driving in Toledo with an RBI single to left. Polanco added another run with an RBI single to left to give Wayland Baptist a 4-0 lead. Once again, Fabian delivered the big blow of the inning – this time crushing a three-run bomb to left for his 12
th home run of the season to give the Pioneers a 7-0 lead.

The Pioneers loaded the bases again in the top of the 3
rd, and Jauz continued outstanding afternoon by clearing the bases with a three-run double to make it 10-0, WBU. With runners on first and second, Fabian stepped into the box again and mimicked his previous at-bat – obliterating another three-run home run for his 2
nd home run of the game, 3
rd home on the afternoon, and 13
th of the season to give the Pioneers a commanding 13-0 lead over the Eagles.

Wayland Baptist added one more run on the top of the 4
th after an Eagle balk allowed Toledo to walk in from third to make it 14-0. The Eagles finally got something going offensively in the bottom of the 4
th and scored four runs to make it 14-4, Pioneers.

The Eagles added one more run in the bottom of the 5
th, but the Pioneers got that run back in the top of the 8
th after
Vann Johnson scurried home on a wild pitch to make it 15-5. The Pioneers wouldn't allow the Eagles to score another run, and they secured the 15-5 win in game two to clinch the sweep of Saturday's doubleheader, and the sweep of this three-game set against Southwestern Christian.

Fabian went 2 for 5 with two 3-run home runs. Jauz went 1 for 4 with a double, three RBIs, a walk, and two runs scored. Pimentel finished 3 for 4 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored. Toledo went 1 for 3 with a double, an RBI, two walks, and three runs scored.

The Pioneers will return home next weekend for a three-game series against
RV Texas Wesleyan. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Friday with game one set to begin at 3:00 PM.
