Point Outlook, Missouri – The Wayland Baptist baseball team wasted little time in taking control of game three in their series against College of the Ozarks as they scored eleven runs in the first three innings on the way to a 14-1 victory and a sweep of the three-game series.
The Pioneers continued their record setting weekend as
Samuel Fabian hit two home runs to set a new record for career homers at Wayland Baptist.
Tyson Potts pitched a complete game three-hitter, allowing only one run while striking out nine Bobcat batters.
Five Pioneers had multi-hit games Saturday, led by
Samuel Fabian who had two hits, both home runs, and four runs batted in.
Riley Watson had three hits, including a home run and a double while also driving in three runs.
Sinclair Pimentel was two for three at the plate and drove in three runs.
Felix Polanco and
Christian Toledo each had two hits and one RBI.
With the win, the Pioneers regained first place in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings.
